Healthcare Data on Snowflake

A curated library of authoritative U.S. healthcare datasets – provider directories, Medicare utilization, quality measures and clinical terminologies – each live, query-ready and joinable to your own data.

Healthcare data on Snowflake means authoritative public health datasets delivered as native Snowflake tables through secure data sharing. Element Data sources each one from its publisher – CMS, NIH/NLM, CTTI – keeps it current, and shares it into your account so you can join it to internal claims or EHR data without moving PHI.

What healthcare data is available on Snowflake?

Element Data curates the most widely used public U.S. healthcare datasets and delivers them as native Snowflake tables through secure data sharing. Each dataset is sourced from its authoritative publisher, kept current, and ready to query the moment it is shared into your account – no pipelines, no restores, no re-downloads.

This page covers what data is available. Our industry pages cover who it is for and why – start with healthcare
providers, health plans, or healthcare consultancies if you want the audience view instead.

Why Deliver Healthcare Data On Snowflake?

Public healthcare data is authoritative but operationally awkward: multi-gigabyte files, quarterly refreshes, inconsistent formats, and terminology that needs normalising before anyone can use it.

No ETL

Datasets arrive query-ready via secure data sharing – there is no ingestion step to build or own.

Always current

Maintained on Element Data’s side against the publisher’s release schedule, not re-ingested on yours.

Governed

Your existing Snowflake role-based access controls apply to shared data from the moment it lands.

Joinable in place

Combine reference data with internal claims, EHR extracts, and member files without moving PHI out of your environment.

Who is this for?

Healthcare providers, health plans, life-sciences companies and consultancies use these datasets for provider
analytics, network design, utilization analysis, quality benchmarking and research.

The most common starting points we see: a provider organisation cleaning up its CRM against NPPES; a health
plan sizing a network with Medicare utilization; a consultancy that needs the same CMS datasets across a
dozen client engagements without maintaining a dozen copies.

If your organisation sits between payers and providers – an IPA, MSO or physician group working through
contract rates rather than network maps – our sister company Liquid Health AI builds AI-powered payer
contract intelligence for exactly that segment. And if the constraint is engineering capacity rather than data access, Liquid Technologies does the Snowflake architecture work

Healthcare data on Snowflake: Common Questions Answers

Provider data (NPPES/NPI), Medicare utilization (Physician & Other Practitioners), Medicare Advantage enrolment, Hospital Care Compare quality measures, clinical trials (AACT) and clinical terminologies (RxNorm and LOINC) – each delivered live and query-ready through Snowflake secure data sharing. If something you need is not on the list, request a dataset, and we will tell you honestly whether we can source it.

Yes. The datasets are sourced from their authoritative publishers – CMS, NIH/NLM, CTTI, Regenstrief. Element Data’s role is delivery, not curation of content: the same data, query-ready in Snowflake and kept current. We do not modify values, and we say so on every dataset page.

Yes, and without moving anything. Because the data is shared into your own Snowflake account, you can join it directly to internal claims, EHR extracts, or member files under your existing governance controls. For healthcare specifically, this matters: your PHI never leaves your environment to be enriched.

The datasets we deliver are public, de-identified reference data – NPPES, CMS aggregates, terminologies – so they carry no PHI themselves. The compliance advantage is directional: because enrichment happens by joining reference data to your PHI inside your account, your protected data never transits to a third party. Your own Snowflake configuration and BAAs still govern the environment; we are not a party to your PHI.

Marketplace is broad. Finding the right dataset, judging whether it is maintained, and wiring up each provider separately takes real effort. Element Data curates a focused catalog, sources each dataset from its authoritative publisher, and keeps it current – the difference between a shop and a supplier. More on that on our Snowflake data provider page.

Usually the data platform or analytics engineering team owns the share, and the analysts using it sit in network strategy, provider operations, quality, or research. Because there is no pipeline to build, the platform team’s involvement is genuinely a one-time task rather than an ongoing commitment – which is often why they say yes.

THE LIQUID TECHNOLOGIES GROUP

Data is one piece. We build the rest too.

Element Data is built by Liquid Technologies (Liqteq). We deploy frontier AI inside healthcare and regulated organisations’ own environments, cloud or on-premises, so they get frontier capability without their data ever leaving their control. When a project needs pipelines or models built around that data, the same team does it, inside the same boundary.

Liquid Technologies

AI solutions provider and data engineering, delivered inside your environment.

Liquid Health AI

AI-powered payer contract intelligence for IPAs, MSOs, and provider networks.

Vidan AI

Video intelligence turning camera feeds into real-time operational alerts.

Sally

The AI operations layer for teams, deployed inside your own cloud.
